The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has cautioned Nigerians seeking affordable housing opportunities to beware of scammers and ensure they only register through official platforms.
FHA Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr. Oyetunde Ojo, gave the warning on Tuesday in Abuja during the commissioning of a newly constructed road within the FHA Estate, Apo-Guzape.
He urged prospective subscribers to make use of the FHA website or its offices in Asokoro and other zonal offices across the country for registration, stressing that the Authority does not engage third-party facilitators.
“We urge Nigerians to log in at the early stage via the FHA website or our zonal offices. Those who register early always get it at a price you wouldn’t believe,” Ojo said.
He revealed that the FHA is set to commence nationwide groundbreaking ceremonies for its housing projects.
Ojo added that early participation was critical because the Authority operates with limited government funding and runs on a cost-efficient, private-sector-like model.

He also disclosed that preparations had been concluded for the commissioning of Nigeria’s tallest and biggest shopping mall located on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, Abuja.
According to him, the facility will feature 59 shops, a four-storey structure, and a 250-seater penthouse hall.
Speaking on the Apo-Guzape road project, FHA’s Executive Director of Project Implementation, Mr. Remy Omowaye, explained that the road network comprised three major access roads, including a collector route designed to overcome the estate’s mountainous terrain.
“This area was mountainous. We had to apply high-level professionalism and ensure quality standards. The road will greatly improve access to the estate and link it to neighbouring areas,” Omowaye stated.
A resident, Dr Bitrus Ndangra, lauded the project, saying it had solved a three-year access challenge faced by residents.

“We had to park our cars outside the estate. Now, with this road, we can drive to our homes. It will enhance both movement and security,” he said.
