Fire Destroys Properties Worth Millions At Lagos Market

A Sunday night fire outbreak at Ajah Market in Lagos State destroyed properties worth millions of naira.

The blaze engulfed several shops and stores housing combustible materials within the market, resulting in extensive damage.

According to the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency received a distress call at 10:10 p.m.

The cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

“On arrival of the Shark Response Team at the incident scene by 2210hrs, it was discovered that several shops and stores housing combustible materials was engulfed by fire at the aforementioned location,” Osanyintolu stated.

“Investigations conducted by LRT revealed that the immediate cause of the fire could not yet be ascertained as at the time of writing this report.”

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.

The fire has since been successfully extinguished by emergency responders.
