Garrison Commander’s Wife Hailed For Remodelling Vocational Centre
Mrs Meg Ndidi Ajose, the Chairperson of Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) and wife of 8 Division General Officer Commanding (GOC) has commended the Zonal Coordinator of NAOWA, Mrs Anne Omoh Tawasimi, over remodelled vocational training centre in Sokoto.
Ajose made the commendation when she inaugurated the centre describing it as excellent adding that the effort would augment the Federal Government skills acquisition training initiative aimed at promoting self-reliance.
She explained that based on the government initiative, students at all levels were enjoined to combine educational learning with skills acquisition training to boost productive engagements in all sectors.
She said the remodelled centre was equipped with modern equipment and specialized instructors, training people on tailoring, catering, handcraft, beauty makeup, computer literacy and others.
The Chairperson commended the NAOWA Zonal Coordinator and Wife of 8 Division Garrison Commander, Mrs Anne Omoh Tawasimi, on her tireless efforts and sacrifices for making the project a reality.
“We are not only providing a conducive learning environment for our children but also empowering them with the knowledge, skills and values necessary to succeed in life.

“I urge instructors, youths, women and other categories of students to make good use of the facilities in the school, ” Arise said.
A graduating student who spoke on behalf of others, Miss Peace Godwin, thanked Mrs Tawasimi for the opportunity, stressing that empowerment training became the window for fruitful engagement in their lives.
Speaking earlier, the NAOWA Zonal Coordinator, Mrs Anne Tawasimi, said at present no fewer than 115 women graduated from different sections in the centre.
Tawasimi explained that the centre was handed over to her in bad shape but with the support of her husband Garrison Commander, massive renovations were conducted to transform it into standard condition.
According to her, all structure was republished to make it a state-of-the-art facility adding that the centre represented more than just a physical structure, as it symbolises hope, opportunity and a brighter future for the children.

She highlighted that the building has offices, classes, toilets and a staff room, which are all well-furnished to provide a conducive atmosphere for learning.
Tawasimi called on citizens to support NAOWA in its strive for academic excellence, foster a culture of innovation and creativity as well as cultivate a sense of community and social responsibility in the formation.
