Hamas-led authorities in Gaza on Sunday executed three men accused of collaborating with Israel.

A Palestinian security official speaking to Reuters confirmed that the executions, carried out by the “Joint Operations Room of the Palestinian resistance,” were intended to deter further cooperation with Israel.

Reuters reports that video footage circulated on social media showed the blindfolded men being shot in Gaza City after a masked militant declared a warning to “all collaborators.”

“This was a revolutionary ruling against those who betrayed the resistance,” the official told Reuters, insisting the punishment was meant to send “a clear message” at a time when rival armed groups are reportedly emerging with alleged Israeli backing.

Reuters citing analysts say the executions reflect Hamas’ growing concerns as anti-Hamas factions, including groups linked to rebel leader Yasser Abu Shabab in Rafah, gain visibility.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier claimed that Israel was arming clans opposed to Hamas, although Abu Shabab denied any formal links with Israel.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s health ministry announced that two hospitals in Gaza City—Al-Rantissi Children’s Hospital and the nearby Eye Hospital—were forced to shut down operations after sustaining heavy damage from Israeli bombardments.

The ministry accused Israel of “systematically targeting the healthcare system” as part of its offensive.

Residents reported Israeli tanks advancing deeper into Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan and Tel Al-Hawa neighborhoods, demolishing housing blocks and using explosive-laden vehicles to clear areas.

Local health officials said at least 25 people were killed on Monday across the enclave, most of them in Gaza City.

Israel maintains that Hamas’ October 2023 assault, which killed 1,200 people and saw 251 hostages taken, justifies its two-year-long campaign to dismantle the group.

Gaza’s health authorities, however, say more than 65,000 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed since the war began, with famine, mass displacement, and widespread destruction gripping the enclave.
