The senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, has said he feels sorry for men who have only one wife, saying that having more wives brings “balance” to his life.
Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics programme, Nwoko said his choice to marry several wives is based on his faith and values, describing himself as an “Old Testament man.”
“I’m a man of faith and an Old Testament man. Just imagine standing on one leg. it’s difficult. But standing on two, three, or four gives you more balance. That’s how I see it. I actually pity men who have one wife because it’s like standing on one leg,” he said.
When asked if he had any regrets, the senator replied that he had none and would make the same choices again saying , “I will do the same thing again and again. I love my wives and my children. I respect them all.”
Nwoko also dismissed claims that he is a violent or domineering man, insisting that he maintains peace in his home.
“I am not a violent person. I respect my wives, and I love them dearly,” he said.

THE WHISTLER reports that his comment comes weeks after reports of a domestic dispute between him and his actress wife, Regina Daniels, went viral. Daniels had accused the senator of physical abuse in a video that drew wide reactions on social media.
In response, Nwoko denied the allegations, claiming instead that Daniels was struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, which he said had caused erratic behaviour at home. He also alleged that she assaulted some staff members and destroyed property in anger.
He further noted that the situation had nothing to do with violence on his part and insisted he had never raised his hand against any of his wives.
“No other wife has ever made such a claim. I am not a violent person,” he said in a statement.
Regina Daniels, however, has not publicly withdrawn her claims but recently purchased a new mansion following the fallout.

On her Instagram handle on Sunday, she posted a picture of the mansion with the caption, “In my house, I am a Queen. I needed a roof over my head so I got this for I and my family.”
