Cristiano Ronaldo has set his sights on reaching his target of 1000 career goals before retiring from football.
The Al Nassr captain is currently on 956 after scoring a brace in the 3-0 win over Al Akhdoud on Saturday.
He has expressed his desire to reach the milestone while revealing that he is motivated to achieve it.
Ronaldo said: “It’s hard to continue playing, but I am motivated.
“My passion is high and I want to continue. It doesn’t matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe. I always enjoy playing football and I want to keep going.
“You know what my goal is. I want to win trophies and I want to reach that number (1 000 goals) that you all know. I will reach the number for sure, if no injuries.”

Ronaldo holds the record for most goals for Portugal (143) and Real Madrid (450), and is the only player to have scored 100+ goals for four clubs – Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al-Nassr.
He has scored 13 goals in 14 appearances this season for Al-Nassr, who are four points clear at the top of the Saudi Pro League table.
The 40-year-old was named Best Middle East Player of the year at the 16th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards, held in Dubai on Sunday.
He pipped the trio of Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez and Salem Al-Dawsari to the prestigious award.
Ronaldo has now scored 40 goals in a calendar year for the third consecutive year, and he has achieved the feat for the 14th time in his storied career.
