‎JAMB Appoints Dr. Okoro Kalu As Chief Examiner For Abia State‎

‎The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has appointed the Rector of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, Dr. Christopher Okoro Kalu, as the Chief Examiner for Abia State, ahead of the April UTME examination.

‎Prof. Kalu disclosed the appointment during a management meeting on Tuesday, where he also reviewed recent achievements and ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the Polytechnic’s academic and administrative standards.

‎During the meeting, the Rector urged management to continually pray for Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, attributing the institution’s renewed progress to the governor’s support for educational development.

‎The Rector also announced that the implementation of a new salary structure for staff, will take effect after the ongoing promotion exercise, assuring that management remains open to addressing staff concerns.

‎To enhance academic quality, Prof. Kalu revealed plans to organize project seminars for final-year students ahead of their project defense, describing it as part of efforts to improve research standards and student preparedness.

‎Additionally, arrangements are underway to upload the names of students with valid JAMB registration numbers on the Senate list to ensure smooth mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

‎Prof. Kalu also pledged a massive participation of the Polytechnic community at the Abia State Governor’s grand civic reception organized by the Ukwa La Ngwa people, scheduled to hold on Friday, January 30, at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
