Late Onyeka Onwenu To Be Laid To Rest Today

Late Nigerian music icon, Onyeka Onwenu, otherwise known as Elegant Stallion, will be laid to rest on Friday in Lagos.

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that Onwenu died on July 30 at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja after falling during a function to honour Dr. Stella Okoli, Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.

According to the funeral’s flier, the service would be held at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, followed by an isolated burial at a cemetery in Ikoyi.

The flier also indicates that the service of songs will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by the burial from 2 p.m.-4 pm today.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party during the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, was spotted at the ongoing burial ceremony.
