Many Injured, Vehicles Burnt In Lagos Gas Explosion

Several persons have been injured and vehicles burnt in a gas explosion that occured at the Iju Ishaga area of Lagos.

Our correspondent gathered that the explosion occured around 3:35pm on Thursday when a truck had a lone accident .

The explosion, which resulted from the accident, rocked buildings as some of the structures suffered partial collapse.

A female resident of the area told our correspondent that the explosion shook her house and she had to run outside .

The lady, Moji Ajeigbe, said, ” I just brought home my child from school and immediately I entered inside the room, I heard a loud noise and the house shook a bit.

” I was confused and I ran outside. I saw fire from the scene but I couldn’t get there because I was so scared. “

The Public Relations Officer of
the Lagos State Emergency Agency, Nosa Okunbor, confirmed the incident.

He said fire responders and security agents had arrived at the scene.

He said, “It was observed that there was a gas explosion on arrival there. The inferno is being tackled by fire fighter. Responders are already there and the situation will soon be brought under control.”
