NDDC Partners Chevron To Boost Economic Activities In Delta State

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has joined forces with Chevron Nigeria Limited to construct the 70.75km Omadino-Okerenkoko-Escravos Road and bridges in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to the Commission, the strategic partnership aims to link Warri to Escravos, the hub of oil and gas activities in the state, and increase economic growth.

According to NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the commission is committed to completing the Omadino-Escravos Road, which will not only boost oil production but also improve the overall economic landscape of the area.

Escravos has been identified as an area of special economic priority, and the NDDC is working to make it more accessible by rallying stakeholder support for a broad partnership.

The partnership is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s emphasis on stakeholders’ engagement.

The NDDC has adopted this approach and is exploring the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative to accelerate project completion.

Dr. Ogbuku cited the successful partnership between the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited and the NDDC on the 25.7 km Ogbia-Nembe Road as a model for future collaborations.

The partnership is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy and communities, creating new opportunities for growth and development.
