Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has called for more United States airstrikes against terrorists operating across Nigeria.
Sani made the call in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Thursday.
His comment comes amid ongoing debate at the National Assembly over the United States’ reported airstrikes on terrorist enclaves in the country.
This follows an announcement by President Donald Trump that the United States carried out airstrikes in Nigeria on Christmas Day.
According to Sani, the Senate’s deliberations align with democratic principles and should result in stronger security cooperation.
“The ideal outcome of the debate should be to support the ongoing partnership and back more airstrikes against terrorists in any part of the country where they are located,” he said.

Sani added that the Nigerian Air Force requires such international support to achieve total eradication of terrorism in the country.
