NIMC Gives Diaspora NIN Partners 48 Hours To Activate Licences

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has directed its diaspora National Identity Number (NIN) enrolment partners to activate their licences on a newly upgraded platform within 48 hours.

In a statement issued on Monday, NIMC’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, said the enhanced system was designed to provide more secure, seamless, and robust services to Nigerians living abroad.

“NIMC Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs) have been onboarded on the upgraded system with intensive training to equip them with the prerequisite knowledge on the application and effective management of the new system,” Adegoke said.

He explained that diaspora applicants could only access enrolment services from compliant FEPs who had activated their licences on the upgraded platform within the stipulated timeframe.

The Commission apologised for any inconvenience caused during the upgrade process and announced the establishment of a dedicated service team to address all diaspora enrolment issues.

Nigerians abroad experiencing difficulties were advised to contact NIMC via nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng for timely assistance.

Adegoke also emphasised that NIN enrolment is ongoing across all centres in Nigeria, with details of the nearest enrolment locations available on the NIMC website.

He encouraged Nigerians both at home and abroad to make use of the self-service modification portal at https://selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng for updating their NIN data.

Furthermore, NIN holders were urged to download the NIMC NINAuth App from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store to instantly verify their NINs, manage who can access their information, and enjoy improved authentication and verification services.
