The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has presented medals of commendation for excellence to 53 personnel in recognition of their outstanding service.
The presentation, which took place during a brief ceremony at the NSCDC FCT Command Headquarters, on Tuesday is part of a quarterly initiative instituted by Commandant Odumosu since assuming office to reward excellence, dedication, commitment, and passion in the discharge of duties, a statement by the FCT Command’s Acting Public Relations Officer, DSC Monica Ojobi stated.
While addressing the award recipients, the FCT Commandant described the exercise as a deliberate effort to motivate personnel and spur them to higher levels of performance.
“This award is in recognition of your dedication and contribution to the growth and progress of the Command, which has had a significant impact on our shared prosperity and accomplishments,” Odumosu said.

“You have shown zest through your approach to assigned responsibilities. This display of loyalty cannot go unrecognized. The idea is not only to inspire, encourage and motivate the rest of you, but to drive everyone to give their best and achieve the highest standard of excellence on the job,” he added.
Odumosu emphasised that the nomination process was transparent and unbiased, carried out by himself in collaboration with heads of departments and units.
He urged officers and men of the Command to remain diligent, reminding them that performance is constantly being monitored.
“This award should not only be seen as recognition of past achievements and successes, but as a challenge to continue to strive for excellence. You have the responsibility to inspire and motivate others to follow your footsteps by consistently proving yourselves,” he said.
He further noted that the NSCDC is anchored on humility and excellence in service delivery, assuring personnel of his continued commitment to encouraging outstanding performance through the commendation scheme.
