Police Arrest Bank Security Guard Over Defilement Of 14-Year-Old Girl In Rivers

Operatives of the Amadi Police Division have arrested a security guard identified as Godday, who was securing a building formerly used by a commercial bank around Mothercat Junction, TransAmadi, Port Harcourt.

The arrest was made over allegations of abduction, defilement, and robbery of a 14-year-old girl.

According to the mother of the survivor, who wished to remain anonymous due to stigma, her daughter was sent to withdraw money from an ATM at Mothercat on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

The girl was allegedly abducted by the suspect, who had been standing behind her at one of the banks. He dragged her to his security post, locked the gate, and raped her.

The girl’s mother explained that her daughter’s clothes were soaked with water and blood, and she had bruises on her face, neck, and leg.

Her left jaw and eye were swollen, and she was weak. The family reported the incident to the police and took the girl to the hospital for treatment.

However, the suspect was arrested by personnel of the Amadi Police Division in synergy with security personnel of a commercial bank around Mothercat.

Also, the Rivers State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Port Harcourt for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Dennis Otobo, a member of the Association Against Child Sexual Abuse and Gender-Based Violence in Rivers State, has called for a timely completion of the investigation and arraignment of the suspect in court without further delay.

Consequently, a medical examination report showed that the hymen of the teenage girl was broken as a result of the assault.
