The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a security guard, identified as Amos Kini, for allegedly abducting his employer’s two-year-old child in the Elemoro area of Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.

She said the child’s mother reported the incident on September 21 at the Elemoro Police Division.
“The mother of the child reported that her security guard had taken her son and mobile phone to an unknown location without her knowledge.
“The suspect later used the stolen phone to contact the father of the child, demanding a ransom of N5 million for his release,” she said.
According to her, operatives immediately launched an investigation.

“The scene was promptly visited and documented. Aruna Audu, who stood as guarantor for the suspect before his employment, was taken in for questioning.
“As efforts to locate the suspect intensified, the police sustained operational pressure through intelligence gathering and coordinated surveillance, and this ultimately forced the suspect to release the child.
“The operatives continued their manhunt to demonstrate determination to bring the perpetrator to justice,’’ she further said.
Adebisi said that on September 23 at about 2:00 p.m., operatives of the Tactical Squad (Hyena), acting on credible intelligence, tracked and arrested the suspect at his hideout in the Elemoro area.
She noted that the suspect confessed to the crime and is currently in police custody. He will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
