Police Arrest Man For Robbing POS Operator In Enugu

One Chinweuba Edeh, 42, has been arrested by the Enugu State Police Command for allegedly robbing a Point of Sale (POS) operator of the sum of ₦70,000.00 on 17th October 2025.

He was arrested by police operatives serving at Nkanu West (Agbani) Police Division following a swift response to a distress call from a female victim, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a release on Tuesday.

He explained that the female victim reported that the suspect robbed her at gunpoint at Oriemba Akpugo Market, Nkanu West LGA.

The release stated that a locally made double-barrelled pistol loaded with two live cartridges was recovered from him.

The suspect would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations, Ndukwe said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bitrus Giwa, has urged citizens to remain law-abiding and vigilant and promptly report suspected criminals and their activities to the nearest police station.
