Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has revealed that the players have not downed tools after the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Xabi Alonso has been under pressure following the club’s poor performances in recent games which has led to two consecutive losses against Celta Vigo and Man City.
Prior to the game against Man City, reports emerged that Alonso would be sacked if the team lost.
However, Jude Bellingham has backed the Spanish manager to turn things around for the club.
He said: “I personally have a great relationship with him, a lot of the lads do as well. After the first run of games we had some really great conversations internally and we felt we were on the back side of that form.

“In the past couple of games we let ourselves down again. No-one’s downing tools, no-one’s complaining and moaning thinking the season is over.”
Similarly, Alonso also revealed that the players are giving their best for the club.
He said: “The performance has been intense. A professional Champions League level game. They have given their best, so from my side no complaints for anything.
“It is hard to take another defeat but we tried until the end.
“It was a very competitive match with different moments. We started strongly with Rodrygo’s goal and a few other chances, but when you are not at your best mentally, in ten minutes they took the lead from very little, with the corner and the penalty.

“The team kept going right until the end and has not lost face despite all the difficulties we are facing, like injuries.”
Meanwhile, according to Sky Sports, Alonso is expected to remain in the dugout for the team’s clash against on Sunday.
Alonso started his Real Madrid career winning 13 of his first 14 games, but things started to go wrong after the loss at Liverpool on 4 November.
Real Madrid have won just two out of their last eight matches in all competitions.
