Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the world’s most charitable sports star after donating fortunes to charitable causes across the globe.

The Real Madrid striker beat the likes of John Cena, Serena Williams and Barcelona star Neymar in the DoSomething.org’s Athletes Gone Good 2015 list, where he was recognized for his generousity, as he has raised money for various causes and used his global status as a spokesperson for charity.

A few of his numerous charity aids include, donating more than $83,000 to a 10 year-old fan in need of brain surgery and giving more than $165,000 to fund a cancer center in his home country Portugal, where his mother was treated.
