Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has rewarded 177 outstanding public servants in the state with five brand new cars and N165.5m in cash as part of efforts to recognise excellence and promote efficiency in public service.
According to a statement by Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the presentation was made during the 2025 Mr Governor’s Luncheon with Outstanding Officers of the Lagos State Public Service, held in Alausa, Ikeja.
In the senior category, five officers won brand new cars through a raffle draw, while 94 others received N1m each. In the junior category, five outstanding staff members were awarded N5m each, while 73 others received N500,000 each.
Sanwo-Olu also announced the promotion of the Director-General of the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation, Mrs Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, to the rank of Permanent Secretary.
He further approved an N10m donation to the staff of the office in appreciation of their role in projecting Lagos on national and global platforms.

Earlier, the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, said the 177 awardees were selected from 312 nominations received from ministries, departments and agencies through a rigorous and transparent process.
Agoro commended Sanwo-Olu for his commitment to the welfare of public servants and urged workers to continue to demonstrate responsibility, diligence and dedication to duty.
He added that the luncheon marked the grand finale of the 2025 Public Service Week, which featured medical screenings, fitness walks, donations to children with disabilities, long-service awards, a government lecture and talent competitions.
