The Senate has confirmed the a former Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Kayode Are; a former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayodele Oke; and a former envoy, Aminu Dalhatu as non career ambassadors.
Their nominations were confirmed on Tuesday following a favourable report on their screening presented by the Senate Committee chairman on Foreign Affairs, Senator Sani Bello.
Are is from Ogun State, Oke from Ogun State and Dalhatu from Jigawa State.
The three nominees were the first set in the three lists submitted to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu some two weeks ago.
In a related development, the Senate also confirmed Dr Chukwuemeka J. Chukwu as the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) to represent Abia State in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Dr Chukwu was nominated for a reappointment by President Tinubu, having served in that capacity for a previous four-year term.
His confirmation followed a favourable report on his screening, which was presented at plenary by the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Senator Simon Lalong.
Similarly, the Senate also confirmed the nominations of Dr Animashaun Olayinka and Mrs Aisha Kanti Bello as members of the Governorning Board of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
Their confirmation followed a report on their screening by the Senate Committee on Power, chaired by Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe.
They were nominated for the appointments by President Tinubu a few weeks ago.
