Senegal earned a 1-0 victory over Morocco to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in a dramatic fashion on Sunday in Rabat.
The game was characterised by a late drama which saw Senegalese players stormed off the pitch in protest towards the stoppage time.
Ndiaye was presented with the best chance of the first half when he was teed up by Nicolas Jackson just before halftime but his effort was saved by Bono.
The Senegalese were on top of their game with a compact performance which produced two shots on target in the first half while Morocco were not able to muster any threat before the restart.
Senegal started the second half with the way they ended the first, dominating possession.

El Kaabi missed a glorious chance in the 57th minute with only Mendy to beat but his effort went off target.
The match degenerated into chaos in the closing moments with Senegal’s goal disallowed for a foul before the referee awarded Morocco a contentious penalty minutes later.
Senegal coach Thiaw instructed his players to leave the pitch before they returned after about 20 minutes later.
Brahimi Diaz missed the resulting penalty with his panenka effort comfortably saved by Édouard Mendy.
The regulation time ended goalless with the game bursting into life in the extra time.

Pape Gueye scored a stunning goal for Senegal in the 94th minute of extra time to give Senegal the lead.
En-Nesyri’s header flew inches wide as Morocco aimed to find a way back into the game before the end of the first half of extra time.
Nayef Aguerd’s headed hit the cross bar in the second half of extra time.
Senegal’s Cherif Ndiaye missed a glorious chance with Bounou making a stunning save to deny him when he was through on goal.
The Teranga Lions held on to seal the victory, winning their second Nations Cup trophy in five years.
