The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerian Christians to embrace love, sacrifice, and compassion as they celebrate Easter.
Mrs Tinubu said Easter represents the enduring power of love, the selfless sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and the hope brought by His resurrection.
In her Easter message on Friday, she called on citizens to use the season to remember the vulnerable and extend support to those in need.
“As we celebrate Easter with our loved ones, friends, neighbours and communities, let us remember those in need and extend compassion and support wherever we can,” the First Lady said.
She further urged citizens to be guided by the spirit of Easter by uplifting the vulnerable, loving one another, and making sacrifices where necessary. She also called for collective efforts toward building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
“May the spirit of Easter inspire us to uplift the vulnerable, love one another, make sacrifices when necessary and work together to build a peaceful and prosperous nation for all.” She prayed.

Similarly, the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, has congratulated Christians on completion of the Lenten fast and extended greetings to them as they celebrate Easter.
Wike described the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of new beginnings and renewed hope for Nigerians, as contained in a statement by the ministry’s Deputy Director of Press, Rabi Umar, on Friday.
He urged residents, particularly Christians, to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ and rededicate themselves to the service of the nation.
“This Easter season offers us an opportunity to reflect on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, and for new beginnings and renewed hope,” he said.
The minister further called on residents to embrace the virtues of love, compassion, and peaceful coexistence. He also encouraged citizens to demonstrate kindness and work collectively toward building a harmonious and prosperous society.

He urged residents to use the festive period to strengthen bonds with family, friends, and neighbours.
