President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, met with the country’s new military at the State House, Abuja.
The details of the meeting were not disclosed.
It had attendance by Lt Gen Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Defence Staff; Maj Gen W. Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral I. Abbas, Chief of Naval Staff; Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke, Chief of Air Staff; and Maj Gen E.A.P. Undiendeye, Chief of Defence Intelligence.
Tinubu had replaced the security leadership to strengthen the defence and internal security framework, said the presidency.
It was the president’s first known meeting with the service chiefs since their appointments on Friday.
The Service Chiefs arrived at the Villa at about 3:55 p.m., led by Lieutenant General Oluyede, who, until his recent appointment, served as Chief of Army Staff.

Oluyede was succeeded by Maj.-Gen. Shaibu, who became the 25th Chief of Army Staff. Shaibu was admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of the 41 Regular Course in 1989.
The air chief, Aneke, was admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as a member of the 40th Regular Combatant Course and was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as a Pilot Officer on Sept. 10, 1993.
Abbas, the new naval chief, gained admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of the 40 Regular Course and was commissioned Sub-Lieutenant on 10 September 1993.
