Two Car Snatchers Arrested In Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command, on Wednesday, announced the arrest of one male suspect and the recovery of two Toyota cars in two separate operations.

A release by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, stated that on 12th December 2025, operatives of the command attached to the Commissioner of Police’s Monitoring Unit (CMU) and Crack Tactical Squad responded to security information circulated via the Command’s Control Room on alleged armed robbery and snatching of a Toyota Camry 2.4L car at Aria Road, Enugu.

According to him, “After intense trailing, the criminal elements abandoned the car, which was subsequently recovered, and fled into the surroundings forest. Manhunt of the fleeing suspects is still ongoing.”

In a related development, operatives of the Command’s Crack Tactical Squad, in synergy with personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on 11th December 2025, at about 3:30pm, arrested one male suspect and recovered an ash-coloured Toyota Camry 2.4L car.

Ndukwe stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was earlier reported stolen from where it was parked in Kubwa, Abuja, sometime in July 2025, while the owner confirmed ownership upon contact.

He stated that, “The suspect and the exhibit have been transferred to the Force CID Abuja for conclusive investigation.”

The Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Giwa, has commended the collaborative efforts leading to the operational successes. He reassured the public of the command’s unwavering commitment to combating crimes and urged residents to continue cooperating with the police by promptly reporting suspicious activities.
