The Abia State House Of Assembly has passed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law.
The Bill which was passed into law on Tuesday to appropriate N1,01trn only for the services of Government of Abia State for the year ending 31st December, 2026 and for the other related purposes.
The passage of the Bill followed the presentation of the report by the Joint Committees on Appropriation, Budget and Economic Planning.
The report was presented by the chairman of the committees, Hon. Ucheonye Stephen Akachukwu (Aba Central) while it was adopted as a working document of the house.
The report was considered in the committee of the whole while the bill passed for its third reading at the floor of the house and subsequently passed into law.

Announcing the passage of the bill into law, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa (Aba South) congratulated his colleagues on the passage of the new law explaining that the law would come into force from January 1st, 2026 when accented to by the Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti.
Earlier in his personal explanation, Hon. Lewis Chinemerem Obianyi (Ukwa East) appreciated the Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti for restoring electricity to 33 communities in Ukwa West. He expressed confidence that the same gesture will be extended to his own Constituency (Ukwa East) soonest as talks had already commenced towards achieving the project.
