Terrorists have yet again killed four residents and set several shops ablaze after launching an early-morning attack on Damala village in the Woko District of the Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State.
The attack occurred days after armed men invaded Kasuwan Daji Market in Demo village, also in Borgu Local Government Area, where they killed at least 42 people and abducted several others.
The assailants had stormed the Damala community in the early hours of Saturday, triggering panic as residents fled in different directions to escape the violence.
During the raid, the attackers overpowered the village, destroyed property, and disrupted daily activities before retreating from the area.
Confirming the latest incident, the Niger State Police Command said the attackers killed four people and rustled cattle during the operation.
The police identified the assailants as bandits who targeted the village, inflicted casualties, and destroyed commercial structures before escaping.

The command assured residents that security forces were sustaining efforts to track down those responsible and re-establish normalcy in the troubled area.
The latest attack adds to a series of violent incidents in Niger State, including the abduction of 315 pupils, students, and teachers from St Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Paipiri community, Agwara Local Government Area.
The victims spent about one month in captivity before their release following federal government intervention.
