Alexander Zverev has won the 2026 French Open men’s singles title after beating Flavio Cobolli in a five-set epic in Paris.
Zverev, 29, secured his first Grand Slam title after three previous final defeats, triumphing 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-1 in four hours, 16 minutes.
Cobolli, the Italian 10th seed, lost the first set 1-6 after a triple break before recovering to take the second 6-4 to level on Philippe-Chatrier.
Germany’s Zverev, the second seed and favorite, took the third 6-4 but lost a tense fourth-set tiebreak while struggling physically.
He rallied in the decider thanks to an early double break and went on to claim the iconic silver Coupe des Mousquetaires trophy.

Zverev took home $3.27 million (€2,800,000) with the win, bringing his career earnings total to about $65.85 million. He is expected to jump from No. 7 to No. 4 in career earnings, jumping Sinner, Alcaraz, and retired tennis legend Andy Murray with the win.
He has been before now the only man in the top 10 of the career earnings list without a Grand Slam title.
