BREAKING: FG Releases Schedules For Primary 6, JSS3, SS3 National Examinations

The Federal Ministry of Education has released a schedule for various National Examinations for exit classes, beginning from August 17 to November 18.

Ben Bem Goong, the ministry’s Director, Press and Public Relations, disclosed in a statement on Wednesday, obtained by THE WHISTLER.

The Ministry stressed that the dates were agreed upon by relevant education stakeholders.

According to the Minister of State for Education,Emeka Nwajiuba, the West Africa Examination Council(WAEC-SSCE) would start on August 17 while the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) would hold from 21st September to 15 October.

“Other details of the schedule indicate that the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for SS3, conducted by NECO will start on the 5th of October and end on 18th of November, 2020,” the statement added.

It also stated that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 would hold from August 24 to 7 September.

” The National Common Entrance Examination, (NCEE) which is a one-day NECO examination for intending applicants into Unity Colleges (JSS1) will run in-between the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination i.e on Saturday, 17th October, 2020,” it stated.

However, it noted that registration for NECO(SSCE) would be closed by 10th of September.

Also, the Education Ministry added that the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) examination has been slated to hold from 23rd September and terminate by 17 October.

Nwajiuba urged all examination bodies to fix and release their respective time tables “in the next seven days.”

“For the one-day National Common Entrance Examination conducted by NECO, it is compulsory for parents and pupils to wear face masks on the exam date, while also carrying along with them, alcohol based sanitizers,” the statement further read.
