BREAKING: Tinubu Appoints Fayose, 25 Others To Federal Agencies

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and 25 others to the boards and leadership of 10 federal agencies and commissions.

Fayose was named as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), according to a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

The president also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa (retd.) as chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, alongside several other heads and board members across key government institutions.

Fayose will chair the REA board, with Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta appointed as members and non-executive directors. The agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors complete the board.

Tinubu appointed eight other officials alongside Bindawa at the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.

Former House of Representatives member from Lagos, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, becomes secretary of the commission.

Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Umar Barde, representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna states, were appointed commissioners. Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi) were appointed members of the commission.

Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who was previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has been redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

Tinubu also appointed Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), and Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

Engineer Julius Oloro, a former local government chairman, was named Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State, replacing Dr A.R. Kamal, who died in January.

The president also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman. Other members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.

Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) in April.

To fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mathias Byuan, former Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, Tinubu appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja. Byuan resigned to contest the Benue State governorship election.

Iorja is an economist, legal scholar and academic who currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).

Onanuga said all the appointments take immediate effect.
