Confusion As Road Safety, Keke Drivers Clash In Abuja

A bloody clash broke out mid-afternoon on Thursday in Abuja, as personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, clashed with Keke Napep drivers in a game of wits.

The clash occurred at the Jabi upstairs, Utako road, Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital territory.

While the cause of the clash is yet to be ascertained, an eye witness confirmed to our correspondent that blood was seen on the streets as residents scampered for safety.

“An FRSC official seized the Keke Napep of one of the drivers and as fellow drivers came to intervene, a bloody encounter ensued,” the eye witness said.

Another eye witness said, “A Keke was burnt earlier this afternoon, and that was the cause of the issue.

“I really cant give full details of what happened because we where all running for our lives, as there were gunshots, but what i can tell you is that there was a clash between FRSC and the Keke Napep drivers. Some Policemen are currently at the scene to calm tensions.”
