Delta Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper, Female Courier
The Delta State Police Command has arrested two key suspects including a female courier and recovered over 360 rounds of live ammunition.
According to a press release on Saturday, the operation, led by the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), ASP Julius Robinson, followed credible intelligence from the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU), Abuja.
The police operatives had first arrested a female suspect, Jamila Abubakar, at a Conoil Filling Station along the Warri–Patani Road, Effurun.
She was found with N550,000 suspected to be proceeds from illicit arms deals. Her arrest reportedly provided a vital lead that triggered further action.
Following the lead, officers were said to have stormed the Niger-Cat area of Warri on October 22, where they apprehended Ahmed Ibrahim, 31.
A search of the premises led to the discovery of 115 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition, 220 rounds of SMG ammunition and 32 live cartridges

The suspect has also been on the Command’s watch list for alleged involvement in high-profile kidnapping and armed robbery cases.
He was said to have been linked to the kidnapping and murder of one Ogheneovo Onemu, who was abducted in May 2024 at Ajaokuta Community, Ughelli North LGA of the state, and later killed despite her family paying a N4m ransom.
The Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, described the arrests as “a significant milestone in the Command’s efforts to disrupt the flow of illegal arms and dismantle criminal syndicates.”
He urged residents to remain alert and continue providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing police operations.
