Emergency Rule: Peace Has Returned, Lessons Learnt, Says Fubara
Rivers State governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed optimism that the political crisis that rocked the state since 2023 has now been put behind the political gladiators.
The governor stated this in a statewide broadcast, being his maiden after the expiration of the emergency rule declared on March 18, 2025.
Fubara declared that peace and stability have once again returned to Rivers State, though not without hard lessons learnt from the emergency rule.
In his broadcast, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his intervention in resolving the political crisis in the state and for restoring full democratic governance.
The governor emphasised the need for peace and stability in the state and committed to working with the Rivers State House of Assembly to recover lost ground and accelerate the social and economic advancement of the state.

Governor Fubara called on all citizens of the state to join hands in rebuilding the state and securing a future of dignity and progress for everyone.
He, however, acknowledged the challenges faced by the state during the emergency rule but highlighted the opportunities for growth and development that lie ahead.
“Let us, therefore, embrace this moment as a fresh beginning. Let us work together with renewed hope and determination to build a stronger, more peaceful, and more prosperous Rivers State. I assure you that we will continuously work towards ensuring that we carry everyone along.”
