Enugu Rangers Sign Apparel Deal With Nzapi
The management of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, on Monday, struck a deal with fashion and apparel designing company Nzapi. The contract gives Nzapi the right to rebrand Rangers’ t-shirts, caps, sports wears, and insignia.
Rangers General Manager, Barr Amobi Ezeaku, told newsmen during the signing that the deal signified a statement of intent. According to him, “We are proud to officially enter into a strategic partnership with Nzapi, a fashion and apparel design manufacturing company that understands not just fashion but culture, identity and story-telling.”
He said Enugu Rangers needed a brand equal to the club’s status. In his words, “For a club like Rangers, identity is everything. We are not just a football club, we have a history, pride resilience and a symbol that cuts across generations that was established in 1970. This partnership is rooted in a simple but powerful idea. Rangers must look for who we are and where we are going. With Nzapi, we are committed to a merchandise thaty speaks to the younger generation to see Rangers, not only on the pitch but a lifestyle brand and then, the older generations who carry the memory of legacy of this great club.”
He said apart from the branding, the partnership would also generate funds for the Enugu club side. “Merchandising is a key pillar of financial sustainability in modern football. Our vision is to professionalise Rangers merchandise production,” Ezeaku said.
The GM stated that it was the intention of the management to “create a product that fans are proud to own, wear and pass on”, adding that, “We are deliberately building Rangers into a self-sustainingh institution where football success is supported by a strong commercial foundation like Nzapi.”
He said the management plans a structured merchandise launching of the club tied to key moments in the club’s journey. In his words, “Nzapi is very committed to it, a collaboration that lends sports, culture and creativity. It will engender a deeper engagement with our fan base, especially the youths, and a long term vision where Rangers merchandise becomes instantly recognisable anywhere in the world.”

The Nzapi Creative Lead, Odinaka Ugwuozor, stated that Rangers were a brand that ought to be promoted. “Rangers bear the prestige of Ndigbo and need to be projected. We are committed to staying with Rangers. In no distant time Rangers brand would be known within and internationally.”
