A major fire broke out on Sunday morning at the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone in Igbesa, Ogun State, spreading from an industrial facility to nearby residential buildings.
Videos shared on social media captured thick plumes of black smoke rising into the sky as raging flames consumed parts of the factory complex, triggering panic among residents.
Emergency responders were seen battling the inferno while people in surrounding areas fled for safety.
The fire reportedly started around dawn and is believed to have been caused by a gas explosion at a foam manufacturing company within the industrial park.
