FRSC Probes Officer-Driver Altercation In Viral Video

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has ordered an immediate investigation into an altercation between some FRSC officers and a driver, following a viral video that surfaced on social media on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

A video showing a heated confrontation between uniformed officers and a motorist, which was widely circulated online, reportedly happened along Abudu, Edo State.

In a statement issued on Sunday by Olusegun Ogungbemide, Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, the FRSC boss expressed concern over the footage and reiterated its zero tolerance for unprofessional conduct among its personnel.

The statement read, “The Corps does not condone any form of unprofessional behaviour or acts that undermine the integrity and discipline for which the FRSC is known.

“An immediate investigation has been ordered to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident, and any officer found culpable will face appropriate disciplinary measures in line with the Corps’ operational guidelines and public service rules.”

The Corps Marshal also appealed for calm, urging motorists and members of the public to continue to cooperate with FRSC personnel who are dedicated to ensuring road safety and protecting lives nationwide.

While emphasising the agency’s commitment to professionalism, Mohammed cautioned against any form of assault or violence directed at FRSC officers in the line of duty, stressing that such acts will not be tolerated.

Mohammed reaffirmed the Corps’ resolve to maintain discipline, uphold ethical standards, and strengthen public trust in its operations across the country.
