Lagos Court Remands Man After Assault Of 18-Year-Old Partner

A Lagos court has remanded Emeka Joseph, a man accused of assaulting an 18-year-old lady he claimed to be his wife, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

The Lagos State Police Command said the suspect was arrested over an alleged domestic violence incident involving Ezeka Chisom, which went viral on social media.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed on Wednesday that investigation confirmed the suspect assaulted Chisom and was responsible for the injuries sustained on her face.

Following his arrest, Joseph was charged to court and was ordered to be remanded until the next adjourned date on August 3, 2026.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for domestic violence.

He assured residents that cases of violence and abuse would continue to receive immediate action.

He also urged members of the public to report cases of domestic violence and other criminal activities to the nearest police station.
