Morocco To Face Brazil, Ivory Coast Handed Germany Clash In World Cup Draws

African representatives at the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been handed tough draws as Morocco is set to battle it out with Brazil, and Ivory Coast will take on Germany in Group E.

In Group A, Mexico will take on the likes of South Korea, South Africa, and the winner of the European playoff D.

In Group B, Canada, Switzerland, Qatar, and the winner of the European playoff A will contend for a place in the next round of the tournament.

Morocco have been handed a tough clash against Brazil, they will also face Scotland and Haiti in Group C.

The United States of America will slug it out with Australia, Paraguay, and the winner of European playoff C in Group D.

Similarly, Ivory Coast were also handed a tough clash with Germany, and the likes of Ecuador, and Curacao in Group E.

In Group F, Tunisia will slug it out with Netherlands, Japan, and the winner of the European Play-off B.

Another African representative, Egypt, are in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.

In Group H, Spain, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, and Cape Verde will vie for a place in the second round.

2022 World Cup finalists, France are in Group I alongside Senegal, Norway and the winner of the FIFA Play-Off Tournament 2.

Defending Champions Argentina are in Group J alongside Algeria, Austria, and Jordan.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal will battle it out with Colombia, Uzbekistan and the winner of the FIFA Play-Off Tournament 1.

In the last group of the tournament, England, Ghana, Croatia, and Panama will battle it out in Group L.

Where and when each nation will play their matches will be confirmed in a separate draw which takes place on Saturday.

Mexico will take on South Africa at Estadio Azteca in the opening match of the expanded tournament, which will involve 104 matches taking place across 16 cities.

The likes of Spain, Argentina, France and England โ€“ have been awarded special seedings which ensure they cannot meet until the semi-finals, assuming each wins their group.
