NAF Conducts Precision Airstrike On Terrorists In Kaduna

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a precision air interdiction operation targeting suspected terrorist elements in the Kidandan area of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Military sources said the operation was conducted on June 19 after an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform detected the movement of suspected terrorists in the area at about 4:46 p.m.

According to the sources, the suspects were tracked in real time and positively identified before the airstrike was launched in line with established rules of engagement and joint operational procedures.

A Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) conducted after the operation indicated that several suspected terrorists were neutralised, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The assessment also showed that a number of motorcycles used by the group were destroyed during the strike.

The operation forms part of the Nigerian Air Force’s ongoing efforts to degrade terrorist capabilities, disrupt their movement corridors and support ground troops in sustained counter-insurgency operations across the North-West.
