Lagos Seals Remi Tinubu, Anambra Warehouses

The Lagos State Government has sealed the Oluremi Tinubu and Anambra warehouses at Ijesha Bus Stop over persistent indiscriminate dumping of waste on the road median.

The enforcement operation was carried out on Thursday morning by the Lagos State Waste Management Authority’s (LAWMA) Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement (WISE) team in collaboration with the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) and the Nigeria Police.

Announcing the development, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegeshi, said the action followed repeated environmental sanitation violations by the affected facilities.

According to him, the decision to seal the warehouses reflects the state’s commitment to protecting public infrastructure, restoring environmental order and ensuring strict compliance with Lagos State environmental laws.

“The affected premises will remain sealed until all compliance requirements have been met to the satisfaction of the relevant authorities,” Gbadegeshi said on X.

He reiterated that maintaining a clean Lagos requires responsible waste management by every resident, business and institution, stressing that environmental laws would continue to be enforced without exception.

“A clean Lagos requires responsible waste management from every resident, business, and institution. Environmental laws will continue to be enforced without exception,” Gbadegeshi said.

The latest enforcement action is part of the Lagos State Government’s ongoing efforts to curb indiscriminate waste disposal and strengthen environmental sanitation across the state.
