Nigeria Immigration Announces 54-Hour Downtime For Passport Services

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has notified the public of a scheduled routine maintenance on its Passport Digital Platform to improve system performance and enhance user experience.

According to a notice issued on Friday by its spokesman, ACI AS Akinlabi, the maintenance will run from 12:00am on 12 December to 6:00am on 14 December 2025 (GMT).

During the period, users of the platform may encounter temporary service disruptions, including slow response times or limited access to selected passport services.

The NIS appealed for patience and stressed that the maintenance exercise is crucial to sustaining a reliable, secure, and efficient digital passport system.

It added that technical teams are working round-the-clock to ensure all services are fully restored within the stipulated timeframe.

For inquiries or assistance, the NIS advised users to contact its support team via email at [email protected], or through its social media handles on X, Instagram, Facebook (@nigimmigration), as well as its 24-hour contact centre numbers: 09121900655, 09121556359, and 09121477092.
