The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, said no contractor has paid any bribe to secure government projects under his administration.
Okpebholo made this claim in a statement on Sunday that captured his remarks while speaking to the leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Edo State.
The governor said that while the government would not condone corruption or mediocrity in project execution, incompetent or non-performing contractors would be dismissed.
“My mission is clear to serve the Edo people selflessly and transform their lives through meaningful development.
“Any contractor who fails to meet project specifications will be shown the way out. Edo’s resources are for the people, not for compromise or favouritism,” the governor said.
Okpebholo maintained that his administration has adopted a zero-tolerance approach to graft.

“No one has paid a dime to secure contracts under my government. I monitor projects personally and revoke contracts when necessary. This is how accountability works,” he added.
The governor noted that his focus remains on transparency, service delivery, and inclusive governance across all political divides.
“The elections are behind us. I am not the governor of APC alone; I am the governor of all Edo people,” he stated.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the SHINE Agenda, which prioritises Security, Health, Infrastructure, Nutrition and Agriculture, and Education.
Speaking on behalf of IPAC, the Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Greg Igbinomwanhia, commended Okpebholo for what he described as “a promising start” to his tenure

“The Ramat Park Flyover is not just a bridge of concrete; it is a bridge of hope that will outlive your administration,” he said.
The IPAC delegation included chairmen of 17 registered political parties in the state, among them the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party, Accord Party, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and Young Progressives Party (YPP).
