The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger State chapter, said it has not received official confirmation of the reported release of 100 abducted pupils from St Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger state
CAN’s chairman in the state, Bishop Bulus Yohanna, said this in a statement by his media aide, Daniel Atori, on Sunday night.
“It will be a thing of joy if some of our children have been released. We have been praying and waiting for their return; if it is true, then it is cheering news.
“However, we are not officially aware and have not been duly notified. We hope and pray it is true and look forward to the release of the remaining children,” Yohanna said.
The development was reported on Sunday by TVC News and Channels Television, noting the Federal Government had yet to release an official statement at the time the report was filed.

The school was attacked by bandits on November 21, 2025, with at least 303 pupils, students, and 12 teachers abducted.
Two days after the attack, 50 pupils escaped and returned home.
The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, visited the school last week and assured parents and school authorities that the children were safe and would return soon.
