Nigeria Professional Football League champions Remo Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa to crash out of the 2025-26 CAF Champions League.
The Sky Blue Stars failed to overturn a 5-1 defeat at home in the first leg to end their continental journey in the second preliminary round.
Nuno Santos gave Mamelodi Sundowns the lead in the 20th minute.
Peter Shalulile doubled the lead for the hosts before the halftime break.
Mamelodi Sundowns held on to secure a comfortable win to book their place in the group stage of the competition for the 11th consecutive season.

Remo Stars will now turn their attention to the NPFL in a bid to defend the title they won last season.
It would be recalled that Rivers United became the first Nigerian team to qualify for the CAF Champions League group stage since Lobi Stars did so in the 2018/19 season.
The Pride of Rivers defeated Mozambique’s Black Bulls 3–2 on aggregate to qualify for the money-spinning Group stage of the competition.
The Bulls won the first leg in Maputo 1-0 before Rivers United turned the tie around with a 3-1 victory in the second leg at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday.
Enyimba are the last Nigerian team to win the CAF Champions League in 2004.
