Sierra Leone Celebrate First AFCON Point In 26 Years

Sierra Leone have secured their first point in the African Cup of Nations in twenty six years.

The team changed the atmosphere in the Stade omnisport de Douala as the team celebrated their historic point after drawing current AFCON champions in the Group E clash on Tuesday.

Prior to the kickoff of the game in Duala, the Algerians were seen as the favourite to win clash.

Sierra Leone managed to book a place at the Cup of Nations after finishing second place behind Nigeria in Group L.

The Desert Foxes began their AFCON title defence against the Leone Stars on a disappointing note.

But for the Sierra Leone side that have been out of the competition since 1996, the encounter was deserving.

By the end of 90 minutes, the team were overwhelmed with happiness after they drew Algeria in a match that ended goalless.
