Tinubu Reappoints Bugaje As NBTE Boss

President Bola Tinubu has reappointed Professor Idris Muhammad Bugaje as the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for a second and final term of five years.

Bugaje was first appointed on March 14, 2021, for an initial five-year tenure.

Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said Bugaje’s reappointment followed a review of his performance, leadership record, and reforms in the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sub-sector.

“Some of the achievements the NBTE recorded, in line with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for education, include: the strategic repositioning and strengthening of Nigeria’s TVET ecosystem; comprehensive curriculum modernisation; and the development and review of 100 national curricula in line with global skills demands,” said Onanuga.

Tinubu urged Bugaje to complete the initiatives during his second term.
