The Troops of Sector 9, Operation ENDURING PEACE, carried out an offensive Operation that led to the rescue of eight kidnapped victims from Pandam Forest in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, disclosed that troops from Namu Town base, Qua’an Pan LGA, carried out the rescue operation.
The operation was conducted at about 3:00 am on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, after the base received credible intelligence about the kidnapper’s hideout in the forest and quickly deployed their troops.
The troops engaged the suspected kidnappers in a gun firefight, during which three of the kidnapped victims managed to escape during the exchange of gunfire, while troops searched deep the forest to rescue the remaining five, bringing the total number of victims rescued during the operation to eight.
Captain Chinonso added that troops are still in pursuit of the fleeing suspects.
