Two Killed, One Critically Injured As Cultists Battle For Supremacy In Rivers LGA

Some communities in the Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State may return to the dark days of cult-related killings if urgent steps are not taken by security agencies and the government to tackle the resurgence of gang clashes, this publication can authoritatively report.

Dependable community sources disclosed to THE WHISTLER that two persons were shot dead in a renewed gang clash between suspected members of ‘MEND’ and Iceland cult groups at Ngo and Unyengala communities, Andoni Local Government Area, on Monday (December 15, 2025) morning and Sunday (December 14, 2025), respectively.

Sources revealed that the renewed clash is due to a supremacy and territorial control battle between the two rival cult groups.

It was also gathered that one prince was reportedly shot dead in another Andoni community last week, but the report has not been independently verified by this medium.

However, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police (SP), confirmed the incident to our reporter.
