The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has condemned the recent killing of a businessman, Chiebonam Nweze, who was stabbed during a bonfire event organised by the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies.
Nweze, popularly known as Power Autos, died before receiving medical attention at the University Medical Centre.
In a statement, the Acting Public Relations Officer, Inya Egwu, revealed that investigations showed neither Nweze nor his assailants were students of the university.
The suspects have been apprehended through a joint effort between the university security unit and the Anti-Cult Unit of the Nigeria Police.
The university management expressed its deepest condolences to Nweze’s family and friends, stating, “The management expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Mr Nweze and prays for comfort during this time of grief.”
