World Cup: Brazil Defeat Mexico, Cruise Into Last 8

Neymar scored one goal and assisted another as Brazil defeated Mexico in Samara to reach the last eight of the 2018 World Cup.

The Seleção took the lead in the 51st minute as the Paris St-Germain forward slided in at the back post to turn home Willian’s low cross.

Roberto Firmino who replaced his former Liverpool teammate Philippe Coutinho sealed the victory for the Samba Boys in the 88th minute after he converted from close range.

The goal makes it his first competitive goal for Brazil since October 2016 against Bolivia.

Tite’s team progress through to the quarter-finals where they will face the winners of the tie between Belgium and Japan in Kazan on Friday.
