You ‘Conned Me N20m’—Kanu Replies Asari Dokubo

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has claimed that Asari Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, swindled him out of N20m.

Mr Kanu was responding to a statement by Dokubo who accused him of using the IPOB to enrich himself contrary to claim that he’s fighting for the emancipation of Igbos.

Dokubo in the video denied receiving N20m from IPOB.

According to him, “They claim that they brought money to Cotonou to give to me—N20 million. We are waiting for them to bring the evidence. They came to Cotonou to meet with me and I hosted them. They did not bring a dime.

“Why do Igbo people allow you [Kanu], a conman, to be conning them? Igbos, you have to rise…He wants to destroy everybody and the Igbo people are keeping quiet.

“Biafra is your business now. You have no other avenue for gainful income. It is a pity how Igbo people have fallen for this evil, but your time is up.”

Kanu, in a reaction, stated that, “Tell him I don’t even react to [the president], talk less of a hungry… that conned me of 20 million naira.

“When world leaders or respected commentators talk about Biafra, I respond. I can’t dignify a petty pipeline security guard with a response. He should focus on his business ventures and leave freedom fighting to freedom fighters.

“For a man of his bloated stature to belatedly realise that his father is Fulani, tells you all you need to know about him.”

THE WHISTLER reports that Mr Dokubo, in March, declared himself as the leader of the Biafra Customary Government. His disagreement with Nnamdi Kanu centres around ideological differences.
